Harvest Family Festival planning underway
By Ian MacKay
Planning is underway for this year's Harvest Family Festival, slated for Thanksgiving weekend, Oct. 9-11.
Committee members agreed at a late-April meeting to book Talbot Acres petting zoo. Participants at the same meeting heard proposals for a bingo by the Rosetown Royals speed swim team and a festival market restricted to hand-made goods.
Mary Wick now chairs the festival committee following the resignation of Kristy Huck at a March meeting. The group also chose Amanda Bors as treasurer at that meeting.
Several venues are already confirmed. The market and a Rosetown Community Theatre production are set for the United Church. The Lions Club will again hold their Saturday beef supper at the Elks Hall. The civic centre gym has been booked as a rain venue for the bouncy castles.
Food trucks will offer dining options downtown on Saturday afternoon. Two food trucks are also set to attend the Tough Trucks derby Sunday afternoon.
